Alpha’s bi-metal recip blades have long proven they can meet, and often exceed, the performance of the TCT recip blade market standard. So when we set out to develop our own TCT range, the goal wasn’t simply to add another blade range; it was to raise the bar. The result is a new generation of recip blades designed to deliver a genuine step change in cutting performance, building on a bi-metal range that already outperforms.

Where it began
In 2020, the Alpha team set out to develop a better-performing carbide-tooth reciprocating saw blade.
We started by looking closely at the market: what was available, what was working and where the gaps were. We sourced samples from around the world and visited factories in person to understand exactly how these blades were made.
By late 2020, our testing program was underway. Over the next four and a half years, we put hundreds of hours into testing every sample we sourced alongside a wide range of carbide reciprocating saw blades already on the market.
In May 2025, we completed the program with a blade range that delivered the performance we had been working towards.
