Spot Weld
Spot weld drill bits are specifically designed for drilling out existing spot welds in metal panels to replace or repair damage.
Spot welds are commonly used in sheet metal production to join two or more metal sheets together. When a metal panel structure is assembled, spot welds are used to hold the sheets in place securely. However, in situations where components and panels need to be separated or replaced, spot welds need to be removed. This is where a spot weld drill bit is helpful. A spot weld drill bit is designed to cut through the top sheet of metal in a spot weld joint without damaging the underlying sheet.
Alpha has different sizes and types of spot weld drill bits ranging from HSS Cobalt, HSS Cobalt TiN Coating and HSS Cobalt Dura Coating.
If you are needing to remove larger spot welds that are generally found on harder metal, the HSS Cobalt TiN Coating or HSS Cobalt Dura Coating Spot Weld Drills are recommended due to their ability to withstand heat.
Alpha has a diverse selection of drill bits which encompass a variety of different types and functionalities including jobber drill bits, reduced shank, hex shank, long drill bits, sets and kits, single and double-end panel drills, stub drills, morse taper shank drills, screw extractor bits and step drills.
