Reduced Shank Drill Bits

Reduced Shank Drill Bits are a type of drill bit designed with a shank that has a smaller diameter than the cutting end. This design allows the drill bit to be used in larger drill chucks that might not fit the full diameter of the cutting end. The reduced shank is often tapered to ensure a secure fit within the drill chuck, providing stability and minimising wobbling during drilling. These drill bits are particularly useful when you need to create holes with larger diameters than your drill chuck can typically handle.

Alpha has the option between heavy-duty and gold series reduced shanks perfect for general-purpose drilling or heavier industrial applications.

The Reduced Shank Drill Bit Gold Series has a reduced straight shank and a 135° split point which cuts faster and reduces wandering. Titanium Nitride Coating reduces heat and increases lubricity for extended life.

The 51/64” Reduced Shank Drill Bit is designed for more heavy-duty applications perfect for fabrication shops and industrial workplaces. It features a reduced non-slip shank and 3 flights on the shank that prevents slippage in the chuck. The Black Oxide coating maximises lubricant hold and assists in chip flow and heat dissipation.

Alpha has a diverse selection of drill bits which encompass a variety of different types and functionalities including jobber drill bits, hex shank, long drill bits, sets and kits, single and double-end panel drills, stub drills, morse taper shank drills, screw extractor bits, spot weld drills and step drills.
