AUSTSAW ROTARY HACKSAW RECALL OCTOBER 2025

1. Why is this product being withdrawn?
This is a precautionary action following advice from the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC), which has identified this category of multi-cutter blades as a potential safety concern when used on angle grinders. While there have been no reported incidents involving our product, we are taking this proactive step to ensure the safety of users and full compliance with regulatory expectations.

2. Is the product unsafe?
The product itself meets our internal quality and performance standards.
However, the ACCC has raised a general safety concern about this type of product when used with certain power tools (angle grinders). To eliminate any potential risk to users, we are voluntarily withdrawing the product as a precautionary measure.

3. Has there been an injury or incident?
No. We have not received any reports of injury or product failure.
This withdrawal is being undertaken proactively and voluntarily in response to updated regulatory guidance.

4. Which sizes or models are affected?
Only the 3 sizes of from the Austsaw Rotary Hacksaw Blade range are affected.
• Austsaw 103mm Rotary Hacksaw Blade, 22.2mm bore
• Austsaw 115mm Rotary Hacksaw Blade, 22.2mm bore
• Austsaw 125mm Rotary Hacksaw Blade, 22.2mm bore
All other products in the Austsaw Saw Blade range remain unaffected and can continue to be sold.

5. Is this an official ACCC recall?
No. This is currently a withdrawal from sale.
However, we are working closely with the ACCC to ensure that all actions taken are compliant with their safety guidance. If the situation escalates to a formal recall, we will notify you immediately.

6. What is happening to the rest of the Rotary Hacksaw range (and Spark Buster)?
The rest of the Austsaw Rotary Hacksaw range is unaffected by this recall.
However, we have decided to discontinue the range in the larger sizes once the stock sells out. Spark Buster is also discontinued and will be sold until stock is depleted.
